Even though the Galaxy Z Flip 6 looks almost the same as the Z Flip 5 at a glance, countless subtle design changes separate the new model from its predecessor. In the video below, we take a closer look at these differences, ranging from the new frame design and hinge to the speaker design and the camera rings.
We also compared some hardware elements, and of course, we couldn't make this comparison video without talking about the Galaxy Z Flip 6's new higher-resolution camera and how it compares to the Z Flip 5's shooter.
As a quick recap, Samsung has used a 12MP primary camera for the Galaxy Z Flip series ever since the original model was introduced in 2020. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 is the first to finally add a new higher-resolution sensor. In fact, it's the first in the series to do many other things. And some of the upgrades and changes it introduces become clearer once you hold this new phone side-by-side with the old one.
The Galaxy Z Flip 6 is the first foldable flip phone from Samsung to ship with Galaxy AI out-of-the-box and to promise seven major OS upgrades over the next seven years. It's also the first to feature a vapor chamber cooling system for its SoC. And it's the first and only phone — for now — to boast the AI-powered Suggested Replies feature.
If you are using the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and intend to upgrade to the Galaxy Z Flip 6, consider checking Samsung's trade-in offers. In some markets, they offer great value. Hit the buy button below for more details, and as always, stick around for more SamMobile YouTube content.
