The Galaxy S22 series started receiving the July 2023 update across Europe earlier this week, but now, it's the USA's turn. And the good news is that both the unlocked and carrier versions of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and S22 Ultra are getting the update simultaneously.

The factory-unlocked Galaxy S22 is getting firmware version S90xUSQS3CWF3. Similarly, the carrier variants are getting firmware version S90xU1UES3CWF3.

The updates don't seem to bring new features to the factory-unlocked and carrier Galaxy S22 models. The latest firmware is all about improving security through of the July 2023 patch.

Nearly 100 security issues fixed this month

As it happens, Samsung detailed the July 2023 security patch not long ago. And according to the official security bulletin, this month's release addresses a whopping 90 security flaws found in Galaxy phones and tablets.

52 security fixes address Google and its own software, while the remaining 38 security vulnerabilities are patched by Samsung, as they affect its software, hardware, and apps. The Korean tech giant patched issues concerning ADB, UWB (Ultra-Wide Band) chipsets, SMS configurations, improper access control issues in Settings, and more.

As usual, you can install the latest update on your Galaxy S22 by opening the aforementioned Settings app, accessing “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.” Alternatively, you can download the official firmware files from our website and install the new update manually using a Windows PC.
