Samsung's native Gallery app doesn't give you the option to hide photos and videos within the app itself. You'll need to move them to the Secure Folder if the idea is to keep them away from prying eyes.
It appears that Samsung may finally be making it possible to hide the content within the app itself through a new Private Album feature that will be available with One UI 8.5.
The Secure Folder is a solid workaround but it's a hassle. You'll need to move them in and out of there every time you want to do something with those images and videos beyond the Secure Folder's sandbox.
Fortunately, One UI 8.5 is going to make it much easier to hide them from view. A Private Album option has been spotted within the native Gallery app on the leaked build. It will let users securely lock photos and videos away from unintended eyes.
This feature was actually expected to arrive with One UI 8.0 but it later emerged that it wouldn't be available in the public version. Samsung did offer it through the app's hidden Labs menu, which is for features that aren't primarily meant for the end user.
However, it seems that the company might finally offer the Private Album option for everyone within the Gallery app at last.
