Samsung first rolled out One UI 8 Watch to the Galaxy Watch 5 a week ago. Earlier this week, the update started reaching the Galaxy Watch 5 in more regions, for both Wi-Fi and LTE variants. Now, it's available in Europe.

The One UI 8 Watch update started landing on the Galaxy Watch 5 in Europe not long ago, carrying the October 2025 security patch and the DYK4 version number.

The update weighs 1.8GB, and the process is relatively slow. The Galaxy Watch 5 is no longer the fastest Samsung smartwatch, and One UI 8 Watch is a big update in both scope and size.

The update process may take more than 10 minutes, so make sure your Galaxy Watch 5 is charged to at least 50% before proceeding.

The wait should be well worth it. Some of the standout features in One UI 8 Watch include:

  • Now Bar integration.
  • More Double Pinch gestures.
  • New charging animations.
  • Double Pinch gestures for controlling notifications.
  • Enhanced notification view.
  • Smarter notification settings.
  • Bedtime guidance and Mindfulness.
  • Find your perfect watch face through keywords.
  • Get watch face recommendations.
  • Create custom tiles.
  • Personalized apps drawer.
  • Choose which calendars will show in the Calendar smartwatch app.
