T-Mobile's T-Satellite now offers MMS on Samsung phones

Last week, T-Mobile launched the T-Satellite service in the United States of America in collaboration with Elon Musk’s Starlink. It is a mobile network offered by satellites in space that is available in every corner of the Earth, allowing you to stay connected in areas where a mobile network from terrestrial towers isn’t available. Initially, T-Satellite offered only Short Messaging Service (SMS). Well, it has now started offering Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) as well, and if you are a Samsung smartphone user, you are in luck.

First spotted by PCMag, T-Mobile’s T-Satellite service in the USA now offers MMS as well, allowing you to send and receive audio files, photos, and videos from anywhere on Earth. The publication points out that the T-Satellite MMS works on Motorola’s and Samsung’s phones that support T-Satellite. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work on Apple’s and Google’s devices at the moment. So, if you were a Galaxy smartphone user, now is the time to flex. That being said, T-Satellite MMS could support other devices too, very soon.

People who have tried T-Satellite MMS point out that it is very slow, taking several minutes to send or receive a photo, with videos taking even longer. That being said, being able to send these types of files from anywhere on Earth without special hardware in itself is a big thing. Hopefully, T-Satellite’s performance will improve in the coming days.

Currently, 41 Samsung phones, ranging from the Galaxy A14 to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, support T-Satellite. T-Mobile is offering it with Experience Beyond plans or at $10 per month. To use the service, subscribe to it, and that’s it. Whenever you go to an area where a mobile network from terrestrial towers isn’t available, your phone will automatically connect to T-Mobile SpaceX.
