Spotify's lossless audio also comes to Samsung soundbars

Last week, Spotify added the lossless audio quality option to the music streaming platform, which offers a higher fidelity audio than previous, lossy audio formats. When Spotify launched the feature, most publications, YouTube channels, and influencers showed how you can enjoy it on Android, iOS, MacOS, and Windows devices, but did you know that Spotify has made lossless audio available on Samsung’s soundbar as well?

Spotify, in its press release about lossless audio, says that the lossless audio quality is also available on devices with Spotify Connect, including those from Samsung. Spotify Connect is a feature that lets you stream audio from the Spotify app or the Spotify Web Player to a smart device, such as a smart speaker or a smart soundbar with Spotify Connect support. That means Spotify’s lossless audio quality will be available on Samsung’s soundbar. However, the brand hasn’t said how you can set the lossless audio quality on soundbars. We assume that in the Spotify app or Spotify Web Player settings, Spotify will add an option to choose the audio quality for Spotify Connect devices.

With the new feature, users of Samsung soundbars with Wi-Fi and Spotify Connect will be able to listen to music with the streaming platform in higher quality than before. Note that Spotify has rolled out the lossless audio quality option in more than fifty markets, and is offering the feature only with the Premium tier.
