Samsung released the One UI 6 Watch beta update—based on Wear OS 5—for the Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic this week. Those who live in the US and Korea can test the new features of the next One UI Watch update ahead of its official debut on the Galaxy Watch 7 next month.

Samsung revealed many of the changes One UI 6 Watch will bring when it first announced the update. But the company focused on the big stuff, like Galaxy AI and the health-related features, in its press release.

One UI 6 Watch brings touch-sensitive Always On Display, double pinch actions, and more

Now that some users have gotten access to the beta, we are getting to see images of some of the not-so-big stuff that wasn't mentioned in Samsung's press release or the update's changelog, in addition to some of the features highlighted by the company.

These images give us a look at things such as the redesigned Quick Panel and notification cards, the new default font, double pinch actions for controlling the watch, the Energy Score feature, and more. They also reveal that the Always On Display is now touch sensitive, so you can tap notifications or swipe without having to first wake up the screen.

Samsung has also made some changes to the Galaxy Wearable app. On One UI 6 Watch, you will see the exact design of your smartwatch model on the Galaxy Wearable app's home screen. The home screen of the Samsung Health app, meanwhile, will now show you if your phone is connected to a smartwatch.

All of this is just what is included in the first One UI 6 Watch beta update. We can expect to see more in future versions of the beta. If you own a Galaxy Watch 6 and live in the US or Korea, you can test the update by joining the beta program through the Samsung Members app.

One UI 6 Watch beta to be available for all Wear OS Galaxy watches

The One UI 6 Watch beta will also be available for the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 lineups later this month. The first stable version of the software will likely debut on the Galaxy Watch 7 lineup next month before coming to beta users on the Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Watch 5, and Galaxy Watch 6.
