The Galaxy A series tends to move serious volumes for Samsung. Its mid-range lineup is quite popular, particularly in emerging markets, as it offers competitive specs at an affordable price.

However, it appears that Samsung may have decided to marginally increase the prices for its Galaxy A handsets in one key market.

These price hikes are not too significant

The market in question is India. As highlighted on X, Samsung is going to increase the price of its Galaxy A series seemingly across the board in the country from Monday, December 15, by 1,000 INR which is roughly $11.

A slightly higher price hike is said to be on the cards for the Galaxy A56 series, which may see its price going up in India by 2,000 INR or around $22. It's not significant, but it goes to show that Samsung may be trying to maintain its margins on the lineup even as it gears up to phase out this year's lineup.

Another report this week had claimed that Samsung is going to launch the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57 a bit earlier than expected next year. The company typically launches these devices in March or April every year, but these new Galaxy A devices are said to arrive by February.

It's unclear if there's going to be a price increase from the get go for the new lineup, but it can't be ruled out, as rising component prices are a reality that can no longer be ignored.
