Samsung has added MILIPASS integration to Samsung Wallet in South Korea. MILIPASS is a mobile identification card for military personnel and their family members. The integration improves convenience and unlocks a range of benefits for MILIPASS users across the country.
MILIPASS was developed by the Korea Special Information Certification Agency to provide secure mobile identification, greater ease of use, and exclusive benefits for members of the Republic of Korea Army, Navy, and Marine Corps, along with their families. The service is used by more than 1.1 million people in South Korea.
Users who add MILIPASS to their Samsung phones will receive Samsung Wallet Points during a limited promotional period. These points can then be redeemed while making purchases using Samsung Wallet Money.
MILIPASS can be used for identification wherever the service is accepted, including military marts such as PX stores and off-base marts, as well as military welfare and sports facilities. It is also accepted at participating civilian convenience facilities that offer discounts to military personnel and their family members.
Chae Won-cheol, head of the Digital Wallet Team at Samsung MX (Mobile eXperience), said, “This service is expected to accelerate the digital transformation of military life and greatly improve the convenience of daily life, and Samsung Electronics plans to continue expanding services that enhance the convenience and security of military life.“
