Samsung is rolling out an update to one of Good Lock’s modules, NavStar. The update changes the app’s version to 8.0.00.69 and brings three changes.
First, it adds ‘custom icon borders.’ We were not able to find the feature on our device, and we may need to dig a bit more to know what exactly Samsung is talking about.
Second, the update removes photos and video permissions. To check what this change does, we uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, then tried to access on-device photos and videos, and we were able to. NavStar didn't ask for permission to access those files. Third, Samsung says that it fixes “FC and other issues.”
To update NavStar to the latest version, open the Galaxy Store, tap the icon with three lines in the top-left corner of the display, select Updates, and tap on the Update all button at the top-right corner of the screen or on the update icon beside the app listing. Samsung seems to be rolling out the update globally.
Speaking of Good Lock modules, Samsung recently updated Theme Park with a ton of new features, as well as support for One UI 8.5. You can read more about it here. Don’t miss checking out our video below where we discuss which were the best Samsung devices in 2025.
