Samsung updates Galaxy A55 with January 2026 security patch

Samsung is rolling out a new software to the Galaxy A55 globally. It offers the January 2026 security patch.

Samsung has released a new software update to the Galaxy A55. It offers the January 2026 security patch, which fixes 55 security vulnerabilities present in the previous version of the OS.

Samsung is rolling out the update to the variant of the Galaxy A55 that it sells in Europe, which has the model number SM-A556B. It carries firmware version A556BXXSCCZA1.

Samsung should release the latest Galaxy A55 update in other regions within a week or two. To get it, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. We will make the firmware available in our database soon, for you to download and install manually using Odin.

The Galaxy A55 is also eligible to get Samsung's latest version of One UI for Galaxy smartphones and tablets, One UI 8.5, which is based on Android 16 QPR2. It brings a plethora of user interface changes and new features, which you can check out in our video below.
