One of Samsung’s Galaxy A series smartphones from 2022, the Galaxy A33 5G, is getting a new software update. It offers the January 2026 security patch, which fixes 55 security issues present in the previous version of the OS, making the device more secure than before.
Currently, Samsung is offering the update to the variant of the phone it sells in South Korea, which has the model number SM-A336N. It carries firmware version A336NKSSDGZA1. As usual, the brand should offer it in other countries around the world in the next few days.
To check if Samsung has made the update available in your country, as well as to get it, on your Galaxy A33, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. We will make the new firmware of the phone for all the regions available in our database soon.
In case you have issues with the OTA update method or if your phone is malfunctioning even after formatting/resetting it, you can grab the new firmware from here and install it using Samsung’s Odin tool on a Windows PC. However, manual installation is risky.
The Galaxy A33 is eligible to get Samsung’s next version of One UI for Galaxy phones and tablets, One UI 8.5. It brings a new UI and new features. You can check them out in our video below. The brand is expected to release it after launching the Galaxy S26 series.
