Microsoft has finally launched Xbox Cloud Gaming, the brand’s game streaming platform, in India. It lets you play games made for Xbox on handheld gaming consoles, personal computers, smartphones, tablets, TVs, and other platforms.
Fortunately, Xbox Cloud Gaming is also available on Samsung TVs. It means that if you have a Samsung TV (from 2022 or later) and live in India, you can enjoy Xbox games on your TV without purchasing a gaming console. Here’s how:
To access Xbox Cloud Gaming on most Samsung TVs in India, download the Xbox app on it (here's how you can search for and download an app on a Samsung TV), open it, sign in with your Microsoft account, and pair a Bluetooth controller with the TV. The platform lets you stream a few games for free. However, to play other titles, you will have to get Xbox Game Pass.
On other Samsung TVs in the region, you can access the Xbox app by going to Samsung Gaming Hub, which you can access from the sidebar. Speaking of which, now that Microsoft has launched the Xbox Cloud Gaming in India, Samsung may enable the Samsung Gaming Hub on those TVs in the country that don't have it, such as the Samsung S90C or Samsung S95C.
Among the three Xbox Game Pass subscription plans — PC Game Pass, Xbox Game Pass Essential, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, only the latter two let you stream games on your Samsung TV. Xbox Game Pass Essential costs INR 499 per month, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate costs INR 1,389 per month. You can try the former for 14 days at just INR 99. The trial offer is valid once per user.
