Samsung is bringing 24-hour terrestrial news channels to Samsung TV Plus for the first time in South Korea. Samsung TV Plus is the company’s free, ad-supported TV service that is available on all Samsung TVs, as well as on Samsung smartphones, tablets, select monitors, and select high-end refrigerators.

Samsung TV Plus has begun airing KBS News 24, KBS1, KBS2, and SBS No. 1 News Live in South Korea. This marks the first time a 24-hour terrestrial news channel has been streamed on a free, ad-supported TV service in the country. While other news channels such as JTBC and Yonhap News have previously been available on Samsung TV Plus, they do not offer live programming.

KBS News 24 broadcasts KBS’s major news programs, including KBS News 9, KBS News 12, and KBS News Plaza, in real time. KBS1 and KBS2 provide selected news and current affairs content throughout the day. SBS No. 1 News Live features popular programs such as SBS 8 News, SBS 10 News, SBS 12 News, SBS Oh News, Nightline, and Morning Wide.

With the addition of terrestrial news channels, Samsung TV Plus viewers can access breaking news and major events more quickly. When live broadcasts are not available, the channels air replays of key events from the previous 24 hours.

Other South Korean news channels currently available on Samsung TV Plus include JTBC News, Korea Economic TV, Maeil Business Newspaper TV, MBN News, Yonhap News TV, and YTN. Samsung TV Plus now has over 100 million users globally across 30 countries.
