On Thursday (31 July 2025), many Samsung TV users around the globe started reporting on Reddit and Samsung’s Community forum that on their television, most applications were not working, including Apple TV, Hulu, Prime Video, and YouTube. More specifically, when they opened an app, they were shown various server maintenance and certification error messages. Well, after around a day of outage, the apps seemed to have started working properly.
On Samsung’s Community forum for Europe, the brand has acknowledged the issue and stated that “the server issue has now been resolved.” People on Reddit and Samsung Community forum have also reported that the apps are now working as they are supposed to. However, the company hasn’t revealed the exact reason that caused the outage. The South Korean tech giant says that if you are still experiencing the problem, restarting the TV should fix it.
According to multiple reports, only the Netflix app wasn’t affected. As pointed out by The Verge, that’s most because the platform uses its own content delivery network. It also suggests that the issues the other apps faced could be related to their servers.
We didn’t face the issue on our Samsung S90C TV in India. So, it looks like the issue had majorly hit Europe and the United States of America. If you are still facing the issue, you can restart your Samsung TV by pressing and holding the power button.
