Samsung's rarest phone is planning a return.

Samsung may have played it a little too safe with the Galaxy Z TriFold’s US launch and underestimated demand for its first phone-tablet hybrid. The company has reportedly been selling the device at a loss since its Korean debut, so limiting production made sense on paper.
In practice, Samsung's calculations may have been a little off. Korean media say Samsung shipped only a few thousand units to the US. The rest is history. Those few thousand units sold out in record time, and the TriFold remains out of stock as of this writing. The good news is that Samsung may restock soon.
Fresh reports from Korea claim Samsung will bring the Galaxy Z TriFold back to the US by the end of February, though no exact date was shared.
That timeline overlaps with Unpacked. Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S26 on February 25 in San Francisco. It is unclear whether the TriFold will return to the USA before the event.
For now, the TriFold’s landing page simply says “Restocking soon,” but you can sign up for stock alerts on Samsung’s online store.
When it does return, expect the same $2,899 price tag. Trade-ins are still a question mark. At launch, Samsung did not offer trade-in deals for the TriFold in the US. And since the company might be losing money for every halo TriFold sold, it is possible that the trade-in program will never open for this device.
We’ll update you as soon as we learn more about US availability and other markets. Until then, if you are looking for a premium foldable phone that you can actually buy, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 remains the closest alternative. It has only one hinge, but the form factor has its advantages.
