Samsung is rolling out an update to the Reminder app for Galaxy smartphones. It is most likely limited to devices running One UI 8.5, which is officially on the Galaxy S25 series right now. It carries version 12.7.05.37 and brings a very useful feature called Early Alert.
In the Reminder app, when you are adding an event, the app asks you when you want to schedule the reminder for, or in other words, when you want to be reminded about the event. With the latest update, the Reminder app will also ask you if you want to be reminded a day or a week earlier, in addition to reminding you on the actual date and the time you scheduled the event for.
For example, if you create a reminder to pay bills on the 25th of December 2025 at 08:00 AM, the Early Alert option can remind you on 24 December, 19 December, or on any date and time before the event that you have an upcoming reminder for. Think of it as an additional reminder notification before the actual reminder goes off.
The Early Alert feature provides you with three options: 1 Day Before, 1 Week Before, and Custom. While the first two options are self-explanatory, tapping on the third will let you set a desired date and time for an early notification.
