Samsung, the world's biggest memory chip manufacturer, has unveiled its new lineup of rugged microSDXC cards. The company's PRO Endurance microSD card lineup is meant for extreme conditions and usage scenarios. The South Korean firm claims that its new microSD cards can last up to 16 years (140,160 hours) of continuous video recording and playback.
While these PRO Endurance microSD cards can be used in any compatible device, they are specifically suited for surveillance (CCTV) cameras, car dashboard cameras, body cameras, doorbell cameras, baby monitors, and more. Compared to speed-optimized microSD cards, PRO Endurance series memory cards can last up to 33x longer.
They come in 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB versions. These cards have sequential read and write speeds of up to 100MB/s and 40MB/s, respectively. That's good enough for Full HD and 4K video recording. These microSD cards are rated Class 10 with video speed ratings of up to U3 (UHS Speed Class 3) and up to V30 (Video Speed Class 30).
These cards can withstand harsh weather and conditions as they are drop-proof, magnet-proof, temperature-proof (-25°C to 85°C when actively working), waterproof, wear-out-proof, and X-ray-proof. The 32GB version is priced at $10.99, while the 64GB version costs $14.99. The 128GB and 256GB versions of PRO Endurance cards cost $27.99 and $54.99, respectively.
