Samsung has launched a new affordable phone—Galaxy F17 5G—in India. It is a variant of the Galaxy A17 5G, featuring mostly similar features and specifications. However, it comes at a more affordable price and will be available exclusively through Flipkart.
Unlike the Galaxy A17 5G, the Galaxy F17 5G doesn't come with a charger bundled in the box.
The Galaxy F17 5G has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with a 90Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution. The screen is protected using the Gorilla Glass Victus panel, and is the cheapest phone in India to feature this version of Gorilla Glass protection. It has a single loudspeaker, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, and a hybrid dual-SIM card slot.
The phone comes equipped with the Exynos 1330 processor, which is not an upgrade over the chip used in the Galaxy F16 5G. The chip is paired with 4GB/6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. You can expand the storage space using a microSD card (up to 2TB).
It has a 13MP front-facing camera and a 50MP rear camera with OIS. Both these cameras can record Full HD videos at 30fps. There is a 2MP macro camera on the rear as well.
The Galaxy F17 5G has an IP54 rating for dust and water splash resistance. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and supports 25W fast charging. Its connectivity features include GPS, 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC (works with Samsung Pay as well), and a USB 2.0 Type-C port.
Samsung has launched the phone in two colors: Neo Black and Violet Pop. It is priced at INR 14,499 for the 4GB RAM version and INR 15,999 for the 6GB RAM version. Samsung is offering an instant cashback of INR 500 if you buy the phone via an HDFC Bank card or via UPI.
