While Samsung rolled out One UI 8 for Galaxy smartphones at lightning speed, the One UI 8 Watch update is moving at a snail’s pace. Everything older than the Galaxy Watch 7 is still running a beta version, though the company does seem to be making steady progress with each passing week.
Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic owners enrolled in the One UI 8 Watch beta program can now download a new build of the software. This fifth beta update for both smartwatches comes with firmware version ending in ZYK2 and is arriving a week after the fourth beta.
The changelog for this update is a small one: it fixes an issue with displaying the correct time when daylight savings time is enabled and brings generic performance improvements. To get the update, open the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone, and navigate to Watch settings > Watch software update > Download and install.
For those wondering when Samsung plans to release the stable One UI 8 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, your guess is as good as ours. The company rarely provides concrete release dates or even time frames, but once the One UI 8 Watch beta program officially concludes for these models, the stable update should begin rolling out within a few days.
