It looks like Samsung’s brief pause on the One UI 8 rollout for the Galaxy S23 series is already over. The company has restored the firmware on its servers and is now pushing a minor security update on top of Android 16/One UI 8, making it seem like the rollout never really stopped. The same thing happened with the Galaxy S24 lineup earlier today.
At the time of writing, the new update is available for the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra, but the Galaxy S23 FE should receive a similar update soon. The update focuses on security improvements and includes the October 2025 security patch, which addresses around two dozen vulnerabilities affecting both Android and Samsung’s One UI.
To grab the update, open the Settings app on your phone, select Software update, then tap Download and install. The rollout began in Korea but should reach other markets in the coming days. If your phone is already running One UI 8, the download size will be around 400MB. However, if you’re still on One UI 7, expect a much larger package as it upgrades your device to the latest version of Samsung’s software.
