Did you know that Samsung has a dedicated app for meal planning and recipes? It's called Samsung Food, and it is available for Android phones/tablets, iPads, iPhones, and even Samsung TVs. Well, Samsung has made it extremely easy to add recipes to the app with a new update.
Samsung has released a new version of the Samsung Food app for Android, iOS, and iPadOS. It brings a newer and easier way to add recipes. You just have to capture an image of your favorite recipe and add it to the app. You can either use a readily available photo (likely from the internet) or capture its photo from a cookbook. You can even turn handwritten recipes into digital recipes. How cool is that!
These new features come as part of the version 2.46.0 of the Samsung Food app for Android smartphones. It is a 49.21MB update that was released on 30 July 2025.
On iPhones and iPads, the Samsung Food app has received UI improvements that bring all recipe photos in one scrollable image gallery. This UI is also available for your own recipes. Moreover, guided cooking is now more readable on iPads and iPhones, thanks to dynamic font sizes that adjust according to recipe steps. You can use these new features by installing version 5.48.0 of the app released on 30 July 2025.
Samsung Food was earlier named Whisk. It was an independent app that Samsung NEXT acquired back in 2019 and brought to its Family Hub refrigerators. However, the company didn't rename Whisk back then. The rebranding happened in August 2023.
