Last month, Samsung launched the Galaxy A17 5G. Now, the company has made its 4G variant official. The Galaxy A17 4G is now available in Germany for €199 and could soon become available for purchase in other European countries. The affordable phone comes with a MediaTek chip instead of the Exynos one found in the 5G version.
The Galaxy A17 4G is extremely similar to the Galaxy A17 5G, and the only difference between them is their chipset. The 4G version of the phone uses the MediaTek Helio G99 chip instead of the Exynos 1330 found in the 5G version. The rest of the specifications remain the same in both phones.
Samsung has equipped the Galaxy A17 4G with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. It has an IP54 rating for dust and water splash resistance. The phone is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and supports 25W fast charging.
It runs Android 15 (One UI 7.0) out of the box. Samsung has promised to offer six major Android OS and One UI updates to the Galaxy A17 5G. Gemini is the default AI assistant on the phone. You can also use Circle to Search to find relevant information.
On the front, the phone has a 13MP camera. On the rear, it has a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 5MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. It can record Full HD videos at a frame rate of 30fps. It has 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. You can expand the storage space by up to an additional 2TB using a microSD card.
It has 4G LTE, GPS, Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. It weighs 190 g and is 7.5mm thin. Its Key Island design on the right side has a fingerprint reader.
