Samsung Foundry may start mass producing Exynos 2600 by November 2025, enabling Samsung to use it for the Galaxy S26 series.

Samsung had planned to equip the Galaxy S25 series with the in-house developed 3nm-based Exynos 2500 chipset. However, Samsung Foundry’s 3nm fabrication process hadn’t reached a yield rate that was profitable enough. As such, the South Korean tech giant had to go with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC for the lineup (and people were really happy about this, as most still prefer Qualcomm’s SoC over Samsung’s).
Now, Samsung is making one more attempt to equip its flagship phones with the in-house-developed SoC. That’s right. It is planning to equip the Galaxy S26 series with the in-house developed 2nm-based Exynos 2600. However, doubts have been looming over the brand’s plans as Samsung’s Foundry’s 2nm fabrication process has not reached acceptable yield rates. Well, it looks like the plan may go through after all.
According to a new report from Korea’s AK Radio, the yield rate of Samsung Foundry’s 2nm fabrication process has reached 40%, and the firm may start mass-producing the Exynos 2600 SoC by November of this year. It will enable Samsung to use the chipset for the Galaxy S26 series.
Considering that chip manufacturers go ahead with the mass production once the yield rates reach 70%-80%, it looks like Samsung Foundry is on a path to achieve that before the end of the year. In comparison, the yield rate of TSMC’s 2nm fabrication process currently stands at 60%.
In the past, Exynos chips have performed worse than their Qualcomm rivals in almost every aspect. Samsung plans to change that with the Exynos 2600. We hope that the chip offers better CPU and GPU performance, runs coolers, and consumes less power than the previous model.
