Samsung claims the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is just as durable as the Z Fold 7

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 are Samsung's best foldable phones ever. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 received a lot of praise due to its slim and lightweight design, which is extremely durable at the same time. And Samsung says the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is just as durable.

The durability of the Galaxy Z Fold 7's display and hinge was tested by French testing firm Bureau Veritas, and the phone was able to withstand over 500,000 folds at room temperature. The Galaxy Z Flip 7, though, was not officially tested by a similar testing firm. However, Samsung Display told Android Authority that based on its internal tests, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 also offers durability on par with the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

This means the Galaxy Z Flip 7 should also be able to withstand up to 500,000 folds at room temperature, 300,000 folds at 60 degrees Celsius, and 60,000 folds at -20 degrees Celsius.

In comparison, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 were rated at just 200,000 folds at room temperature. So, Samsung's newest foldable phones showcase a 2.5x improvement over their predecessors. They use Samsung's new Armor FlexHinge, which folds the display into a water droplet shape and has a wider angle, and has a new multi-rail structure that disperses stress in a better way.

So, if you were worried about the Galaxy Z Flip 7's durability, don't be. The phone should easily last over five years of heavy usage. And with normal usage, it should last up to ten years.
