Samsung is integrating artificial intelligence across its devices and platforms, and now it appears that the company will utilize this technology to help sell more products to consumers and offer support.
A new report indicates that Samsung has developed an artificial intelligence-powered chatbot for customers with the aim of delivering better customer service. A pilot service has been launched on its online store in South Korea and some retail locations.
Customers will be able to get more information about a whole host of Samsung products, including mobile devices and home appliances, through this chatbot.
It won't be a standard chatbot experience that uses preset responses, rather, it would use AI to respond more accurately and offer personalized product recommendations based on the customer's unique needs.
It would also provide more detail about getting the most out of every feature the product offers. In case the customer requires support for repairs, the chatbot will explain the necessary measures and provide estimates of the repair cost as well.
The chatbot won't just convey all of this information through text but also through images, making it easier for customers to understand the information that's presented to them. The chatbot will be accessible through both PC and mobile devices.
The report mentions that Samsung intends to do a full rollout of this chatbot on its online store before the end of this year, once it's ironed out any of the issues that surface during the pilot program.
