Yesterday, Samsung launched the 9100 Pro. Its new flagship M.2 SSD, with speeds of up to 14,800 MB/s using NVMe and PCIe 5.0. But only in India. Now, the brand has launched it in the United States as well. Here are its prices and specifications.
Samsung has launched the 9100 Pro SSD in the US in the two variants: 9100 Pro and 9100 Pro with Heatsink. As the names suggest, the latter has a heatsink but the former doesn’t. Both come in three capacities: 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB. Below are their prices.
The South Korean tech giant has priced the 9100 Pro’s 1TB model at $199, 2TB model at $299 and 4TB model at $549. It hasn’t announced the prices of the model with heatsink. Samsung says that it will introduce the 8TB model in the second half of 2025.
The 9100 Pro SSD uses Samsung’s V NAND TLC (V8) and an in-house developed controller. It features sequential read and write speeds of up to 14,800 MB/s and 13,400 MB/s respectively and random read and write speeds of up to 2,200K IOPS and 2,600K IOPS respectively.
With these numbers, it is almost twice as fast as its predecessor, the 990 Pro, which came out in 2022. It has sequential read and write speeds of up to 7,450 MB/s and 6,900 MB/s respectively and random read and write speeds of up to 1,400K IOPS and 1,550K IOPS respectively.
Samsung says that the 9100 Pro is 49% more efficient than the 990 Pro. The total bytes written (TBW) capacity of the 1TB model is 600, 2TB model is 1,200, 4TB model is 2,400, and 8TB model is 4,800, which is the same as the 990 Pro. All models come with a 5-year limited warranty.
