Samsung has launched a new monitor in the ViewFinity S9 Series in Korea, the S95UC. It comes in only one screen size, 49-inch, which carries the model number LS49C954U. Samsung has priced it at KRW 1,49,00,00 (approximately USD 1,146) and it is currently available to purchase in the region. Samsung is yet to announce the price and availability of the monitor for regions outside Korea. Now, let’s take a look at what it offers.
The ViewFinity S9 S95UC has a VA panel with a resolution of 5,120 x 1,440 pixels, which gives it an ultrawide aspect ratio of 32:9. This is a curved panel with a 1000R curvature. The display has a refresh rate of 120Hz and a grey-to-grey response time of 4ms. The company claims that it has a maximum brightness of 350 nits. The monitor not only supports HDR but also features VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification. According to the brand, it covers 115% of the sRGB color space and 92% of the DCI-P3 color space.
Wired connectivity options on the 49-inch S95UC include 2x HDMI 2.0 ports, 1x DisplayPort 1.4 port, 3x USB Type-A 3.0 ports, 1x USB Type-C port with 90W power output over the USB Power Delivery (USB PD) protocol, 1x 3.5mm audio jack, and 1x Ethernet port. Since this is not a smart monitor, you don’t get any wireless connectivity options. There are two 5W speakers onboard in a stereo configuration. The monitor has a 100×100 VESA mount and it comes with a stand that offers height, tilt, and swivel adjustments.
