QuickStar update brings even more Quick Panel customizations to One UI 8.5

One UI is one of the most customizable smartphone software experiences available in the world, and it becomes even more flexible with Samsung’s Good Lock modules. Earlier this year, Samsung announced that it would bring more Quick Panel customization options through an update to QuickStar, but the previous update didn't bring those features. Now, that much-awaited update has been released.

The new QuickStar update, version 10.0.04.26, is now available through the Galaxy Store. It introduces several new customization options for the Quick Panel in One UI. You can now set custom backgrounds for different elements, something that was not possible before. There is also an option to adjust the Quick Panel layout in landscape mode, display the current value of sliders, and resize Quick Panel elements.

You can set custom backgrounds for elements such as the brightness slider, button panel, media player, and volume slider. In the Edit Panel Style section of the app, tapping the plus icon opens a menu that lets you choose images from your phone’s Gallery or other compatible apps. You can also add borders or assign background images to individual quick setting buttons.

The update also allows you to resize Quick Panel element. For example, the media player widget can be reduced in size compared to its default layout, and you can see it in the screenshot below. You can also choose to display values for brightness and volume sliders. However, these values appear only in black, and there is currently no option to change the font color.

These additions to QuickStar offer a wide range of customization possibilities for the Quick Panel on Galaxy devices. However, the feature is currently limited to devices running One UI 8.5. As of now, the stable version of One UI 8.5 is available only on the Galaxy A37, Galaxy A57, Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

The One UI 8.5 beta program is available for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and the Galaxy Z Fold 7. This means the updated QuickStar app can also be used on those devices in regions where the beta program is active.
