Google has released a new version (1.0.1939.4) of its Quick Share app for Windows devices. It mainly fixes bugs, including the ones that caused the app to crash and the ones that asked users to enter a PIN even while sharing files with known contacts. It also fixed a bug that caused the app to crash if file transfer took more than a minute.
The new version of Quick Share also removed the app's shortcut icon from the desktop and added cars and foldable devices to the device types. This is interesting, as Android Automotive OS cars don't support Quick Share yet. So, it is likely that you can soon share files from your laptop to your car.
Google claims in its changelog that it has improved the app's animations to improve battery life and performance. Weirdly, the update still doesn't make Quick Share compatible with ARM-based Windows laptops, such as the Galaxy Book 4 Edge, which uses the Snapdragon X Elite chip.
