Even before One UI 8.5 has officially rolled out, a very early build of One UI 9 (Android 17) has leaked online for the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Yes, this is the real deal: development of One UI 9 has clearly been underway for some time, and the first internal firmware has now surfaced.

It’s unclear what new features or changes are included in this build, and at this early stage, we don’t expect to see many major additions. Still, for those willing to take the risk, we have a link below where you can download the firmware.

A huge disclaimer before you proceed

This firmware is an early internal build of One UI 9 and is not an official public release from Samsung. It is shared strictly for informational purposes. Installation is not recommended for general users.

As this appears to be the very first internal compilation of One UI 9 for the Galaxy Z Fold 7, it may contain serious bugs, incomplete features, instability, and performance issues. Anyone who chooses to install it does so entirely at their own risk.

If you decide to revert to One UI 8 after installing this build, you will need to manually flash the full firmware using Samsung’s Odin tool on a Windows PC. This process will factory reset the device and erase all data.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 supports seamless (A/B) updates, which may allow the device to fall back to the previously installed One UI 8 build if the One UI 9 installation fails. However, this cannot be guaranteed, and it should not be relied upon as a recovery method.

SamMobile hosts official firmware files, including stable One UI 8 builds, but we do not provide instructions for installing leaked or internal firmware. The installation process for this build involves third-party applications, including Root Activity Launcher (a paid app). Those who still wish to proceed should seek guidance from independent developer communities or conduct their own research.

This firmware is intended exclusively for carrier-locked US Galaxy Z Fold 7 units with model number SM-F966U. It is not compatible with unlocked US models (SM-F966U1) or Galaxy Z Fold 7 devices sold in other regions. Attempting installation on an incompatible device may result in failure, software corruption, or device malfunction.

By proceeding, you acknowledge and accept all associated risks.
