Samsung, even before it finished rolling out the stable version of One UI 8.5 to all the Galaxy smartphones and tablets confirmed to get it, unveiled an even newer Android customisation, One UI 9.0. The brand initially released its beta version for the Galaxy S26 series, and with the One UI 8.5 rollout now complete, the tech giant appears to be expanding development of One UI 9.0 to more devices.
A few hours ago, firmware files for the Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A34 featuring One UI 9.0 were spotted on Samsung’s servers for the first time. Now, a One UI 9.0 firmware build for the Galaxy A17 has also surfaced on the brand’s servers (via Mohammed Khatri). This suggests that the company has begun developing the new software for the Galaxy A17 as well. The firmware carries version A176BXXU5DZF1.
One UI 9.0 brings more user interface customisation options and new features. As for the former, you get a more customisable Quick Panel, among other minor things. Coming to the new features, you get improved Game Booster and Samsung DeX, and many new accessibility features.
Samsung has already released the beta version of One UI 9.0 for the Galaxy S26 series. The brand may extend the beta program to a few more devices, but it may not be available for the Galaxy A17. Once the testing is complete, the company is said to debut its stable version with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series.
