A few weeks ago, it was rumored that One UI 7.0 would bring improved animations and transitions, which is true. We noticed that animations have more bounce and fluidity. Transitions are smoother, too, at least compared to One UI 6.1.1. Moreover, you can see a stronger background blur effect across the app drawer, notifications pane, quick settings panel, and the multitasking menu (Task Switcher). Watch these improvements in our hands-on video below.
The Task Switcher now displays a slightly stacked style on One UI 7.0. In comparison, One UI 6.1.1's Task Switcher is a lot simpler. Moreover, there is a bit of distance between an app's card and the app icon in the new Task Switcher UI. There is no search button on the multitasking screen, which is another change compared to One UI 6.1.1.
Samsung announced that it will release the beta version of One UI 7.0 for developers (and likely consumers) before the end of this year. The stable version will be released alongside the Galaxy S25 series early next year. The Galaxy S25 series is expected to be launched in mid-January 2025.
