A whole lot of talk about Ultra and Galaxy AI.

Samsung has fired up the hype machine again. With the global launch of the opinion-splitting Galaxy S25 Edge behind it, the company is ready to move on to the next chapter. Today, Samsung acknowledged its upcoming 7th-generation Galaxy foldable devices for the first time in a somewhat vague press release titled Meet the Next Chapter of Ultra.
The teaser Samsung issued today serves as a primer for this summer's Unpacked launch event, but at the same time, Samsung appears to be taking things very slowly. The announcement barely says anything substantial apart from hinting at how the next-gen foldable phones could spice up the formula this summer.
To begin with, Samsung hasn't mentioned the names “Galaxy Z Fold 7” or “Galaxy Z Flip 7” even once in this pre-Unpacked teaser. Instead, Samsung used the Ultra name several times.
The Ultra experience is ready to unfold.
Likewise, Samsung hasn't mentioned when or where it wants to host this summer's Galaxy Unpacked. So, the company seemingly wants to generate some extra hype before the event, one tiny drop at a time.
However, the company did share a GIF depicting the outline of a Z Fold phone. You can see it in our YouTube Short below.
Aside from this short animation, Samsung hinted at bigger screens, better cameras, and new ways to connect and create.
The demand is clear — an Ultra-experience that goes beyond a simple list of upgraded features in a smaller and more portable form factor.
It sounds like Samsung is ready to push the Galaxy Z lineup to the next level with more meaningful upgrades in the display, design, and camera departments. We have heard that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 should get a better camera and a bigger screen, at the very least.
With industry-leading hardware, cutting-edge performance, and seamless AI integration optimized for the foldable format, it's what users have come to expect from Galaxy Ultra.
Again, Samsung used the Ultra brand lavishly in the announcement without mentioning the Galaxy Z Fold 7 or Galaxy Z Flip 7 names once. Whether or not Samsung will label the next-gen foldable(s) “Ultra” is to be determined.
And, of course, it wouldn't be a Samsung press release without a healthy dose of Galaxy AI sprinkled throughout.
And when it unfolds, it transforms into a more immersive entertainment hub, a spacious workplace, or a multitasking powerhouse, now enhanced by powerful Galaxy AI features designed specifically for the foldable form.
We will let you know once we find out more, and of course, we will take the next-gen foldable phones for a spin at the next Unpacked. Stay tuned!
