Meta, WhatsApp's parent company, has also been testing lots of other new features. One of them includes the ability to automatically share WhatsApp status updates as a story on their Facebook account, which was found to be under development a few weeks back.
The feature is now available in the latest beta version of the app (2.23.9.22) for some users. Beta users can control which status updates are shared automatically, and they can also manage who is able to see the Facebook stories that were automatically uploaded from WhatsApp.
Automatic sharing of status updates to Facebook will make the functionality a lot more convenient. Right now, the stable version of WhatsApp includes the option to share WhatsApp statuses to Facebook, but it is a manual process that takes a few extra steps.
As usual, there's no telling when this particular functionality will become available for the general public. It might not take too long considering the pace at which WhatsApp has been adding features these days, but it's impossible to pinpoint a specific time frame.
