Samsung is rolling out a new update to the Samsung Internet app for Galaxy smartphones and tablets. It carries version 28.0.2.43 and brings one major change and that is, a redesigned menu and a redesigned menu customization page (via Tarun Vats). Let's take a look.
Earlier, when you tapped on the menu button, Samsung Internet brought up a short panel with rounded edges that stretched from the left to the right edges of the screen. The new menu panel doesn’t extend to the edges. Instead, it ends right before them, which gives it a floating look. That’s not all. In the previous version of the app, the menu showed the five icons at the top in blue and the ones below them in black. Not anymore. The new menu shows all the buttons in black colour.
As for the redesigned menu customization page, it gets a similar treatment as the menu. It shows the five icons at the top in black instead of blue, and the container below it with the remaining icons is narrower. In our opinion, these changes make the menu and the menu customization page look more polished and consistent than before.
To get the latest Samsung Internet update, go to Settings » Menu » Updates and tap on the Update all button or the update icon beside the app’s listing. We have received this update on the Galaxy S25 series but not on older devices, which suggests that the South Korean tech giant is rolling it out in phases.
