Samsung has released a new update for the Good Lock LockStar module. It brings several new customization options for Galaxy phones. The update adds multiple screen unlock animation effects, manual always-on display (AOD) brightness controls, and more. However, unlock animations are currently limited to devices running One UI 8.5.
The latest LockStar update (version 8.5.00.8) introduces two new features for One UI 8.5 devices and one new feature for devices running One UI 8.0. The most exciting addition for One UI 8.5 devices is the ability to customize screen unlock animations.
The Unlock Animation option offers several animation styles: Slide, Expand, Spread, Wave, Warp, and Ripple. Each animation offers additional customization options, such as their shape, color, animation duration, and interpolator (animation curves) settings.
It also introduces manual control over always-on display (AOD) brightness. However, this feature is only available on devices that support full-screen AOD wallpapers, such as the Galaxy S24 and newer high-end Galaxy models.
For devices running One UI 8.0, LockStar now includes a new text feature that allows you to place custom text on the lock screen. Samsung has also fixed an issue with fingerprint effects and added corner rounding option to lock screen widgets.
