Samsung has released a software update for the Galaxy M56. It brings the February 2026 security patch, which fixes 37 security issues. At the moment, the brand is rolling out the update in India, which, as far as we know, is the only country where the company is selling the phone.
The update is 499.16MB in size and carries firmware version M566BXXU5BZB4 (via Samsung Community). To get it, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
Samsung launched the Galaxy M56 in April 2025 with One UI 7 (Android 15), and promised to offer six major updates (new Android or One UI versions) and security updates for six years to the device. So far, the company has offered one major update, which brought One UI 8.0 (Android 16).
With five major updates remaining, the Galaxy M56 is eligible to get Samsung’s latest version of One UI for Galaxy smartphones, One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2). The tech giant showcased its stable version with the Galaxy S26 series and is expected to start rolling it out to eligible devices in the next few weeks.
