The Galaxy Z Flip 5 has only one direct rival in India, the Razr 40 Ultra. This clamshell foldable smartphone from Motorola not only offers features similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 5 but also undercuts it in pricing. Then there’s also the Razr 40. It doesn’t have as many features as the Galaxy Z Flip 5, but it comes with a much lower price tag. Now, Motorola is selling the Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra with huge discounts on Amazon, causing even more trouble for the Galaxy Z Flip 5.
Motorola launched the Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra in India at INR 59,999 ($720) and INR 89,999 ($1,081), respectively. During the Amazon Great Indian Festival, the Razr 40 Ultra is available for a jaw-dropping price of INR 72,999 ($877), whereas, the Razr 40 is on sale for INR 44,749 ($537). The two phones might not be as good as the Galaxy Z Flip 5 overall. However, people might overlook their shortcomings considering the price at which they are being offered.
You can get the Razr 40 at INR 44,749 by using an SBI credit card for the payment, which gives you a discount of INR 5,250 ($63) on the listing price of the device. As for the Razr 40 Ultra, Amazon says that you’ll be able to get the phone for INR 72,999 by making the payment with an ICICI Bank credit card, which offers an INR 10,000 ($120) instant discount on the listing price of the device. While the deal for the Razr 40 is live, the one for the Razr 40 Ultra is yet to become available.
If you are, however, interested only in the Galaxy Z Flip 5, you don’t have to be disappointed as Samsung is also offering huge discounts on its clamshell foldable smartphone. As we reported yesterday, the Korean tech giant is giving an INR 17,000 discount on the Galaxy Z Flip 5 during the Amazon Great Indian Festival, bringing down its price from INR 99,999 ($1,200) to INR 82,999 ($997). So, if you are in the market for a clamshell foldable phone, now is the time to get one.
