Samsung may have officially rolled out Quick Share to AirDrop support on the Galaxy S26 series only, but there's mounting evidence to support that it will be released for many other devices.
A new report highlights several devices that are set to receive this much awaited feature in the near future. The list includes several models from the highly popular Galaxy A series as well.
An earlier report had highlighted that Samsung is expanding support for this feature not through a full software update but through updates to Quick Share and its modules.
Even though these modules added the feature to those devices, it wasn't operational just yet. These include the Quick Share, Quick Share Agent, and Quick Share Connectivity apps.
Once updated, the Share with Apple devices option will turn up but it will remain unusable, as GalaxyClub reports that functionality is restricted to devices currently participating in the One UI 8.5 beta.
The report finds that a common thread among all devices tested for support and that's Android 16. This appears to be the baseline for support. This thus covers a wide range of devices, including the Galaxy S22 series and up and recent foldable phones.
It also supports the Galaxy A56, Galaxy A55, and the Galaxy A36. It's likely that the Galaxy A35 may be supported as well. No Galaxy A1x, A2x, and A4x models seem to be eligible.
Samsung expanding capability to even mid-range devices is a good sign. This will make the feature far more valuable than if it had only been kept limited to the high-end devices. Users who don't want to tinker with the modules just yet can wait for One UI 8.5 which should bring Quick Share to AirDrop support to all eligible devices.
