In detail: Samsung One UI 8.5 explained by our One UI expert

Galaxy S26 Ultra is now official and brings with it One UI 8.5, the next iteration of Samsung's custom Android skin. There is a lot that the new firmware brings to the table and it's worth checking out.

Our resident One UI expert has put together a detailed video about everything that's new with One UI 8.5 on the Galaxy S26 Ultra that you can now watch.

One of the more obvious changes is the complete revamp of the Quick Panel. Samsung has completely redesigned how it looks and works. You get incredible customization options so it's possible to set it up precisely as you want it.

Several new Galaxy AI features have been added as well. Call Assist and Call Screening are worth a mention here. Galaxy AI can screen calls for you automatically by asking the caller who they are and why they are calling.

It will then provide you that context and you can either pick up the call or respond via text and the AI handles the rest, enabling you to continue the conversation without having to pick up the phone. Call Assistant can help with recordings if you like to have backups of your conversations.
