Samsung announced at the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES) that there are over 430 million SmartThings users globally. That makes it one of the most popular smart home platforms in the world. Since it integrates the Matter standard, IKEA's newly announced smart home devices work readily with SmartThings.

IKEA announced 21 new Matter-over-Thread-equipped smart home products at CES 2026. They include bulbs, plugs, remote controls, sensors, and switches. All of them are very sensibly priced, making it easier for anyone with a recent Samsung TV, soundbar, or Family Hub Refrigerator to expand their smart home.

Once you set them up using the SmartThings app, you can even create Routines to work with other Samsung or Matter-compatible smart home devices and products. For example, you can set the lights to dim and curtains to close when you turn on your Samsung TV. When you leave home, IKEA sensors can initiate the Samsung Jet Bot Steam Ultra to clean your home.

Remote controls

  • BILRESA (Dual button): It can be used to switch lights on or off, adjust the brightness, change its color, or trigger a scene.
  • BILRESA (Scroll wheel): Lets you adjust devices with simple turn, such as increasing or decreasing a dimmable lights brightness or increasing or decreasing a fan's speed.
  • BILRESA (Remote Control Kits):Comes in a kit of three colorful remote controls (beige, red, and green). One kit comes with three scroll wheels, while the other comes with a dual-button controller.

  • KLIPPBOK: This water leakage sensor can detect leaks and then alerts you with a sound.
  • MYGGBETT: This door and window sensor can detect when a door or window is opened or closed. It can trigger other devices based on its closed or opened state.
  • MYGGSPRAY: This motion sensor from IKEA is for both indoor and outdoor use. It can turn on lights automatically when you walk into its motion sensing area.
  • TIMMERFLOTTE: It can measure humidity and temperature. You can switch between viewing humidity and tempereatur by pressing its button.

David Granath, Range Manager at IKEA, said, “Most people still struggle to know what they need to make things work but they might already have what they need in their Samsung TV, speaker, or appliance. That’s one of the benefits of Matter, making it easier or more affordable for our customers.
