Of course, as we have seen with Motorola's foldable flip phones, Chinese brand Honor has opted for a design that puts the device's rear-facing cameras inside the cover display, so the display has a major obstruction that makes the larger size somewhat meaningless.
In fact, the cameras take so much space that Honor appears to have been forced to put the camera flash on the bottom half of the phone. It's a unique approach we haven't seen before, though there's no telling if the longer distance between the camera lenses and the flash will have a negative impact on pictures taken with the flash turned on.
The Honor Magic V Flip and the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will be on an equal footing as far as the number of cameras are concerned. The Magic V Flip has two rear-facing cameras, one of which sports a 50MP sensor. It's unclear what the other camera is for, but we can expect it to handle ultra-wide shooting duties. Details for the front-facing camera are unavailable as well.
The Galaxy Z Flip 6 will also feature a 50MP primary camera. It will be the first time the primary camera will get a substantial upgrade since the Galaxy Z Flip lineup's inception. The ultra-wide and selfie cameras aren't expected to change.
It remains to be seen how the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Honor's Magic V Flip will compare in other areas. The Magic V Flip will have 12GB of RAM as default and up to 1TB of built-in storage, and it is expected to feature a 4,500 mAh battery with 66W charging, so while the camera experience may not be very different, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will likely look considerably less impressive when taking the complete spec sheets into account.
