While signing digital documents is extremely easy on Galaxy phones and tablets that support the S Pen, it can be more difficult on devices that don’t include a stylus. To make signing documents easier, Google is reportedly working on a new Android app called Signature.
Google’s upcoming Signature app was discovered by Android Authority. It lets you create a digital signature using your phone’s or tablet’s touchscreen, camera, or keyboard. You can create three types of signatures: typed, drawn, and photographed. These signatures are then securely stored in the app’s vault, allowing compatible apps to request access to them whenever you need to sign a document.

When an app requests your signature, Google’s Signature app opens in a partial-screen window. You can then choose the version of your signature that best fits your needs.
It appears that the Signature app is already available on phones and tablets with the June 2026 Google Play system update. This means device manufacturers won’t need to include it in a separate software update. The app is compatible with devices running Android 12 or later.
Google hasn’t officially announced the Signature app yet, but an announcement is likely in the near future.
