Last week, Google announced that it will unveil the Pixel 8 series on October 4, 2023. So far, there have been plenty of leaks regarding the specifications and design of the two upcoming phones: Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Today, a new leak sheds light on the prices of the two phones for the European market. This gives us an idea about how the Pixel 8 series stacks up against the Galaxy S23 series.

According to DeaLabs, the base variant of the Pixel 8 (128GB) will cost €799 in Europe. Whereas, the base variant of the Pixel 8 Pro (128GB) will cost €1,099. In comparison, the 128GB storage variants of the Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro are currently selling for €649 and €899, respectively, in France. That means the Pixel 8 and the Pixel 8 Pro will be €150 and €200 costlier than their respective predecessors. The Pixel 8 will also be available with a 256GB storage option, and it will be priced at €859. The 256GB and 512GB versions of the Pixel 8 Pro are said to cost €1,159 and €1,299, respectively.

In Europe, the base variant of the Galaxy S23, which has 128GB of storage, costs €859, whereas, the base variants of the Galaxy S23+ and the Galaxy S23 Ultra with 256GB storage are priced at €1,109 and €1,249, respectively.

According to various leaks, the hardware of the Pixel 8 will be similar to that of the Galaxy S23. According to today’s leak, the Pixel 8 will start at a slightly lower price than the Galaxy S23. And that's not a meaningful price difference between the two. People could still end up choosing the Galaxy S23 as it has a dedicated telephoto camera. And Samsung has a better after-sales service network than Google.

As for the Pixel 8 Pro, its hardware won’t be a match to that of the Galaxy S23 Ultra, if the leaks are to be believed. That means its sales might remain intact in spite of it having a higher price tag.
