In addition to new features in One UI 8.5, Samsung is introducing more customization options through several Good Lock modules. Last month, the company revealed plans to offer even more Quick Panel customization via QuickStar. However, those features are arriving later than expected.
With an upcoming version of the QuickStar app, Samsung will allow users to edit the Quick Panel in landscape mode, change the orientation of certain quick setting toggles, and set an image as the background for those toggles. However, the feature that enables changes to the quick settings button grid orientation has been delayed. It was expected to arrive for One UI 8.5 beta users, but that has not happened.
A Good Lock moderator on the Samsung Community forum in South Korea has confirmed that the ability to edit the quick settings button grid using QuickStar will become available only after the stable One UI 8.5 update is released for compatible Galaxy devices.
With this feature, users will be able to change the size and orientation of the quick settings button grid. These options are not available without installing the Good Lock and QuickStar apps on a device running One UI 8.5 or earlier versions.
