A great way to make the humble Galaxy A55 exciting.
Reading time: 4 minutes
The Galaxy A56 is one of our favorite Samsung phones of the year. But even though it is a near-perfect mid-range device, you can still have a lot of fun with some of the older models in 2025. For instance, if you're not ready to trade up but want to breathe new life into your Galaxy A55, we have two words for you: Good Lock.
As you may know, when the Galaxy A55 went on sale in March 2024, Samsung's famous Good Lock customization platform was limited to a handful of markets. But a year after the humble A55 made its debut, Samsung finally lifted Good Lock's restrictions and launched the platform globally.
So, in case you've been using your Galaxy A55 in one of those restricted markets since launch and missed the news, Good Lock has been available for your device since April. Should you try it? Most definitely.
Many mid-range Samsung phone users enjoy customizing and getting the most value out of their devices. That's one of the most fun things you can do with a mid-range phone, in our opinion. And if you own the Galaxy A55, chances are that you feel the same.
All you need to start exploring more advanced personalization options on your A55 is to download Good Lock from the Galaxy Store or Google Play. Then, the fun part begins.
We should mention that there are a couple of caveats to running Good Lock on your Galaxy A55.
First, you might not be able to install every single Good Lock module. Some modules are still limited to a few regions even after Good Lock's global release.
Second, some Good Lock modules that are available for your Galaxy A55 aren't fully supported. In other words, features can be limited by hardware. Some options that are available on higher-end phones might not be supported by the Galaxy A55.
Game Booster + will likely miss some performance tools found on more powerful phones. And Edge Touch was among the modules missing on our A55 in Europe. But, in a way, that's where half the fun is: Figuring out the extent to which you can customize the Galaxy A55 using Good Lock.
For reference, here is a full list of modules we found on the Galaxy A55 in Europe as of this writing.
This list might look different in some regions and could change over time. Make sure you see what Good Lock has in store for your Galaxy A55 in your market.
And lastly, you can also explore some of the best Good Lock modules and their capabilities through our YouTube channel, where we dedicate several videos to the best plugins.
