Samsung is expected to debut the stable version of its next Android skin, One UI 9.0 (Android 17), with its new flagship foldable smartphones, which are scheduled to arrive on July 22, 2026. In the meantime, the brand seems to have started developing the new software for its first and latest phone with a tri-folding display, the Galaxy Z TriFold.
According to a popular tipster, Tarun Vats, Samsung has begun developing and testing One UI 9.0 for the Galaxy Z TriFold. It means that the release of the new software for the phone is now one step closer. The company is said to start rolling out the new Android skin soon after launching its next foldable phones. So, the update should arrive in a month or two.
Based on Android 17, One UI 9.0 brings with it a more customizable Quick Panel with resizable controls, enhances Samsung DeX with easier desktop and window management, adds new productivity tools to Samsung Notes, expands Game Booster settings, and introduces a location privacy indicator.
It also offers several accessibility improvements, including Text Spotlight, new keyboard shortcuts, enhanced Mouse Keys, easier access to accessibility options, a new Select to Speak feature, and an updated TalkBack that can receive future enhancements through the Play Store instead of full system updates.
