Samsung is expected to launch three foldable phones in mid-2026: the Galaxy Z Flip 8, the Galaxy Z Fold 8, and a wider version of the Galaxy Z Fold 8. The battery capacity of the Galaxy Z Flip 8 leaked a couple of days ago, and the battery capacity of the wider Galaxy Z Fold 8 was revealed more recently. Now, the battery capacity of the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 has also leaked, bringing some good news.

According to a report from GalaxyClub, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will feature a 5,000mAh battery. This would make it about 13% larger than the battery in the Galaxy Z Fold 7. If accurate, the phone would have the largest battery ever used in the Galaxy Z Fold lineup, though it would still be smaller than the 5,600mAh battery found in the Galaxy Z TriFold.

It is not yet clear whether the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will also bring faster charging speeds. So far, Galaxy Z Fold phones have been limited to 25W fast charging. However, this could be a good time for Samsung to upgrade to 45W or even 60W charging, especially since the recently launched Galaxy S26 Ultra supports 60W fast charging.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to feature a 6.5-inch OLED cover display and an 8-inch crease-free foldable OLED screen. The phone will likely be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor and could come with at least 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It may also become one of the first devices to run the stable version of Android 17-based One UI 9.
