The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is seeing a lot of interest from customers, more than what the larger fold typically does, and there's one demographic in particular that's overwhelmingly buying it over the Galaxy Z Flip 7.
A new report highlights how the vast majority of customers buying the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in Samsung's home country of South Korea are men of the younger demographic.
Samsung has seen record pre-order demand for its new foldables as sales topped 1.04 million units during the period week spanning July 15 – 21. This broke the previous record set by the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5.
While the Flip has been the more popular model in the past, the Fold accounted for nearly 63% of all pre-orders for Samsung's new foldables in South Korea. A report highlights that 83% of buyers who opted for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 were young men.
Women largely prefer the smaller and more stylish clamshell foldable and they accounted for 59% of all pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 in South Korea. The Z Flip generally tends to find a stronger customer base among women as they prefer its versatility and portability.
These trends are likely replicating in other markets as well. Samsung continues to see higher demand for the Fold over the Flip this year. Customers appreciate its significantly thinner profile and performance upgrades, making it the perfect option for someone who wants a phone that's unique and incredibly powerful.
